Discolouration on Windscreen

I don’t know if this is a stupid question but I can’t quite figure out what has caused this and how to put it right.

Looks like oil.... glass polish should remove it

Has somebody wiped the screen after using sun-block or hand cream?

It’s on the inside of the screen but possibly, I’ll get some polish on it and see what happens
