Difficulty insuring a second car in my name

I want to insure a second car in my name but recently discovered my 6 years NCD can only be used on one car. I had mistakenly thought a multi car policy meant just that, 2 or more cars on the one policy. Apparently not.

Any recommendations on where might be worth trying to insure a 2002 Audi TT 225BHP. I'm 35 years old and have 6 years NCD on my other car. The TT will do no more than 5k miles per year. No mods on the TT.

Similar BHP figure but it's a diesel - 2007 Audi A6 3.0 TDI Quattro 233BHP

The best I'm getting offered on the TT from Compare The Market is £778 fully comprehensive with 0 years NCD. If I can't get it down to under £600 insuring the TT won't be an option.
