Difference between Longlife and normal Multigrade oils

What is the difference between longlife oil VW 503.01 and normal fixed service VW500.00 / VW 501.01 / VW 502.00 etc.

Does the longlife have better shear resistance and additives.

For example, would it be a good idea to use longlife oil in a car with fixed servicing, say every 10,000 miles. Or would it be a waste of money (assuming longlife oil is more expensive).

i put normal oil in my car then i found out its longlife service, seems to be working ok

Ive always used Castrol Magnatec in mine, and it seems to run fine with that....
