Hi there, i'm relatively new to the forum and havent posted any pics of my car up yet so i decided to start a progress thread :)

Anyway a little bit about me, im 24 and have been driving VWs since i passed my test so ive upgraded to an Audi, heres my old cars:

2002 1.0 Polo (bought standard) - Full GTI rep, 16" BBS RX2s, full leather etc:

I then turned 22 and my insurance dropped significantly, so i bought myself a real GTI, it had every extra available apart from bucket seats so i didnt do much to this one apart from stage 1 map, grey wheels and Ed30 rear lights:

I quickly got bored of that after about 5 months but couldnt afford an S3 yet, so i sold it 2 years later for the exact same price i bought it for which surprised me, i then started hunting for my perfect S3...

Whilst looking at S3s a mate suggested the 3.2, i test drove one and at £4k with only 70.000 miles (£10k cheaper than the S3s i viewed!) i couldnt say no!

When buying the car it ran a bit rough which i didnt notice for a few hours so it went into Audi for a coilpack recall and software update and now all is well mechanically :)

Heres a pic of when i bought it 3 weeks ago, bog standard spec non s-line but full heated leather :)

I have since fitted a set of genuine 18" Audi/BBS CH, and MY11 rears, bigger changes to come very soon hopefully!

My plans with this car are to get it exactly how i want for less than £6k (including car price) as this is the amount i got for my GTI, that way the extra money i saved for the S3 will now be used as a mortgage deposit.

I have big plans in mind but a relatively small budget, although i intend to sell all the standard parts i remove to fund more parts :)

Thanks for looking and i will update this thread every time i get something new :D

Please say part of your budget will go on lower suspension and some wheel spacers :p

That's a bargain mate so don't blame you...you can easily pay £400 just for 4x those tyres new.

Christ that's a steal! I just paid £340 plus fitting about a month ago for Goodyear eagle F1s! Can't fault them though!
Get yourself the 4 rings for the boot though! I took the other badges off mine, but the rings have to stay! Doesn't look right without them IMO.

I'd look into facelifting that.. Bonnet and bumper/grill.. Should be plenty about now I would have thought.. Just updates it and makes it more livable with.. Hard 1 tho, cos on comparison i'd have rather have had the Golf..

@Sayam and bentwenty - as soon as i seen them on £340 on ebay i pit a maximum bid of £500 and won at £400, i couldnt believe it
The car already had the Audi and A3 badge removed, i intend to put black rings on and get rid of the 3.2 and quattro badge.

Plans for the car are facelift S Line front end or facelift S3 front end (non drl headlights though, i cant justify spending £700 on a set of headlights)

RS3 black grill with bottom Quattro badge

Paint the wheels black and wing mirrors black

Remove the tacky Quattro stickers off the sides

S line tailgate with spoiler (picking one up in red on saturday hopefully)

S line sideskirts

S3 rear bumper

Black roof lining (i HATE the grey)

Coilovers or springs - undecided

Spacers but unsure on what width to go for? The wheels are 7.5j not sure what offset

Not sure what else yet, any ither suggestions? :D

I hated the Golf mate, in even the slightest bit of rain it would wheel spin to death, it annoyed me driving it that much i preferred driving my Citroen berlingo with 200k on the clock when it was raining.

Will definatly be facelifting it though, already got a lot of the bits i just need to decide on a bumper and find a front panel, ive been told the front panel isnt necessary but im not sure

Sounds like you've got some cracking plans! I think the 18x7.5 BBS CH are ET54, but I'm sure someone will correct me if not :)
I have found ET42 on 18x8.5/9.5 to be pretty much flush on the back and just a bit in on the front. So if the above offset is correct, I would have though 25mm at the back and 15mm on the front would sit well and still give you room for lows ;) Have a play on here to work it out http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.ph...ameter2=18&wheelwidth2=7.5&offset2=29#content

As above, sounds like you have some excellent plans for this car!

As for spacers, 12mm on the rear and 10mm on the front should see you right. It will improve looks but guarantee zero rubbing on the wheel arches. Anything more than this may work, but could rub so it depends how 'stanced' you'd like to be.

I agree with Sayam, 25 and 15 will get them out to a few mm less than where mine are, but I have had to put 225/40/18 on with a little stretch and recently rolled my rear arches to get everything to fit without rubbing.
