Dashcam rear cameras - how useful?

I do about 40k a year in my company car and just stuck a cheap £25 eBay duel one in mine and having both is handy as if you have someone being a **** you can prove a bad over take or tailgating and also if you get shunted (most common accident) you have the proof. I have mine stuck to the head lining so you can see my centre brake light coming on too just so no confusion that my braking was at fault.
gives you two chances of getting the culprit. one idiot who drove from the fastlane straight onto a sliproad at last second and would have 100% wiped me out at 70mph if i didnt swerved hard left to avoid the moron. They thought they were being clever by pulling onto the hard shoulder to avoid what they thought was a big confrontation at the next set of lights and being videoed by my front dashcam (im not like that, though i wouldve had a few choices words like "next time get off the next junction thats 5 miles away rather than try and kill us, you ****** idiot). Yhing is i had recorded them on the rear camera anyway
Without starting another topic, I want to jump on this thread to ask opinion on my dashcam (Christmas present)
It is Road Angel Halo. 2 channel with the front camera recording in 1280x720 HD 150 degree viewing angle and the rear 640x480 150 degree viewing angle. The camera cost was £199.99 and the hardwire kit will be £14.99.
It does the usual parking mode once I hardwire and google map view, but I am comparing it before I do so in case I change camera.
How do the below images compare to others setups, bearing in mind the price above? Appreciate all input and recommendations. Does anyone have same set up?

The rear is really quite bad...my BV 2 channel was £300 and has full HD up front and 720p at back.
But, for £199 you can get the Thinkware F770 which has full 1080p at both the front and rear, and records at a really good bit rate. I find it's actually clearer than my more expensive BV due to the higher bit rate.
Hard wire would be just as cheap. Personally I would swap it for the ThinkWare mate. Much better camera for the same money.

The Thinkware F770 is the camera I'm looking to buy too. Gets great reviews and has some really neat features.
The trouble is, it's been out for a while and I'd hate for a newer version to be released shortly after I bought one. Ideally, I'd love for Thinkware to create an answer to the Blackvue cloud services they have on their cameras.

The F770 is quite new isn't it?
And trust me the cloud feature is pointless! I wish they would bin it and just offer a higher bit rate again!

Thanks for your insight about the BlackVue - I have to agree, the low bitrate was the reason I steered away from that camera, especially as I have a rear window tint at the moment. My BIL has the BV and it's a nice form factor and the front camera is great in the daylight but it needs a little improvement at night.
Just did a little digging and the F770 was released around June 2016. That sounds quite recent, but the F750 was only released in March 2015. That's what makes me wonder whether there's a new model imminent(-ish).

Yes they are pretty good, I run two separate systems both are 1440p DVRs, my front system uses a magic pro voltage timer which allows me to film in park mode, I have it set for 12Hrs or 11.8V cut off.
My rear is powered from the aux cigarette lighter in the boot, so it's ignition only.
Both cams are app based so they don't have any screens. Main thing is that they are recording when I drive, the separate also gives me some redundancy on dodgy SD cards.
Also one more thing is best get a CPL filter for the rear as reflections are a plenty.

How does parking mode operate? Is it a continuous feed/someone walks in front/car is bumped?
I think i may return my Road Angel, as i understand it may only record if the sensors in the camera are triggered by a knock.

I know it has a timelapse function where it takes one frame every second. I think it also has impact detection and it records a few seconds prior to the impact too. The Blackvue cameras prefer motion detection rather than impact detection but that can be troublesome if you park somewhere busy.
