Hi All,

Bit of a strange one going on here.

Audi A3 2.0 TDI 140 04 plate.

Insert key into engition, turn once so all the dash lights come on. Glow plug light goes out in a about 1 second, but the rest stay on for about 30 seconds. Even when the car is started and driven, most of the lights stay on (enine warning traction control etc) and the very last one to go out is the red steering wheel (airbag i think). Started happening a few months ago and no faults found by a local Audi/VW specialist (Inde Tech in Milton Keynes).

All fuses are ok, so I am a bit stumped where to start with this. No mods, tried a brand new battery but still no change.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Could be barrel has an issue, do they go on/off or just stay on static.

They go off after about 20-30 seconds. Is it worth chucking some wd40 in there?

Uh no, need to ascertain where the problem lay 1st, it maybe located somewhere else, I would try another cluster temp, doesnt need to start car, just see if lights go of any quicker, I have a used tdi cluster.

Have you scanned the car as yet?

Ok.. I am a complete newby to this so what do you mean by another cluster temp? Sorry for being a dim wit lol

Oh and yeah sorry, no faults found by Audi specialist in Milton Keynes (Indi Tech).

Cheers

And something else to add.. there is even a delay on the hardbrake light going on and off even after all of the other lights have gone off. If I put the handbrake on, it takes about 5 seconds for the light to come on the dash, and the same if I take the hardbrake off. Strange behavior..

As in plug in another speedometer to check if it does the same.
