So the nice shiney 5 series we've been driving around in is now damaged.
The Mrs decided to try and drive over a massive kerb and caused the damage to the front bumper. See pic.
has anyone been in this situation and what's the best thing to do?
excess is 500 through the hire company.
Cheers

It's pretty noticeable so you won't get away with saying "wasn't me". You either tell them and pay up or find someone who can do a cheap homer repair and keep quiet. As long as the paint match is pretty good they'll never notice.

A homer respray of the bumper will much less than £500...

Yeah I think that's the way to go. Will take it to a body shop for a quote. Thanks

I'd bite their hand off at £100, if it's matched properly then that's a brilliant price

As Chop says, lady luck hasnt been smiling your way :( ...... If theres any saving grace, at least the damage is right on the lower under section, not an obvious position, hopefully if the body guys do a good job, there should be no probs. Fingers crossed for you

Are they usually reasonably priced?

She just popped into a body shop and they said 100 quid. Seems ok

As the others have said, at £100, go with the body shop. Chipsaway and the like won't really be much cheaper than that.

Check if the body shop has a courtesy car. Then don't take it haha

She's barred from driving now lol. She's just glad she didn't do it to our car as she knows divorce would have resulted!
