Hi there,

I found oil on the CV joints a few weeks ago but can't find any holes or tears in the rubber boots. So I cleaned the oil off and waited to see if the oil came back in a few weeks which it did when I checked yesterday.

Now i'm wondering if its normal for some oil to get on there as I can't find any tears? Could it be just muck from the road etc?

Thanks

I did think that but its a localised gathering of oil within the cv boot grooves and there not evidence of anything dripping down from the shock. Also I though the seals for the struts are at the top end?

I'm going to put the issue down to muck from the road. I've noticed I have no brake disc back plate on my front right and the muck and grime is all over the cv boot and brake calipers etc on this side...much worse than the other side.
The struts were only replaced in April so can't be them, plus the ride feels fine when cornering etc.
