Having had experience running 1st generation 2.0TFSi engine, it had known issues to look out for.
I'm wondering what issues to look out for on the newer 2.0T Fsi engine fitted to a MY2009 Quattro.
Think engine code is CCZ .

This is a pic of the engine.

Hi.

I have the same engine code (CCZ) in my car.
Mine is not an S3 but a A3 S-Line 2.0TFSI quattro / S-tronic/DSG

I am also interested in som practical info on this.

Thanks

because you've got an S3 and they didn't update the engine cover for it

I'm not talking about just the cover! The oil dipstick is in a different place and so is the MAF.

thought it was just the engine cover they didn't change, they must be running the old variant engine in it as well

I was just going to mention the water pumps, they start making an awful high pitched squeal when hot, mine (1.8TFSI) is going in on Thursday for the exact thing, but it's under warranty so nothing to worry about hopefully

What happens with the tensioners, if you know?

What mileage did yours fail at? any warning signs before it went, like with the water pump?

Now I wish I didn't bump this thread :( this seems like a super common fault on MK6 gti's

I'd prefer to know... Fore-warned is fore-armed.

Ignorance is bliss :meeting:

Do you have any engine mods to your car? Curious as im looking around and i think it shares the same platform as the mk6 gti?

I have a Bluefin, but it's not currently installed... so it's bog standard at the minute. I'm not too worried for now about possible issues though! It's just that I'd like to know what to watch out for in future.

That Engine looks the same as the one that was in the wife's MK 6 GTi we had a couple of years back and that was Chain driven, like someone else said dipstick is in a different place and a shorter/different engine cover.

Totally different engine to the one in the S3, golf Gti MK 5 and Golf ED35

cheers mate, how did bluefin get around the MED17 ecu lock, did you have to get it unlocked by superchips dealer, or is it straight mapping via the OBD port with the bluefin device?

AFAIK there's no ECU lock pre 2010, beyond that it's hit or miss depending on whether you have the updated ECU or not ...but don't take those dates as gospel. Mine went straight on via OBD port with no hassle.

Dropped mine off this morning with the high pitched squeaking noise, but reading around various forums it seems to be more of a North America problem than Europe, have a feeling they will just tell me there's nothing wrong with it

on my 11 plate golf I had no problem with bluefin.
I still have the bluefin if anyone is interested in buying it (you'll need to get superchips to reset it though)

sounds promising! I've emailed superchips and am now waiting for a reply.
costs of resets have gone up substantially, wouldn't want to insult you with an offer for your device lol.
