Just had the front wheel off and found one of the bolt holes has been cross threaded. Can it be rethreaded or would the hub need replaced?

Ta.

Need to get a tap for your thread type, that'll fix it otherwise its a helicoil or new hub.

As its a B9 maybe talk with dealer, although they may question why it was removed & maybe done when wheel was being worked on so to speak.

How much would a tap be? Just thinking if it's worth while attempting it myself or accepting the cost for a new hub? I'd say someone has already attempted fixing it.

Need to check thread size, go from there, if bolt doesn't push through at all, then its probably possible to recut the thread.

How would I go about getting the size of the thread? Forgive my ignorance, just something I've not done on a car before.

Literally just found it there as you sent that, cheers.

  • Strength class:8.8
  • Spanner Size:17
  • Thread Size:M 14
  • Thread Length [mm]:27
  • Bolt Head-/Nut Design:Male Hex
  • Thread Pitch [mm]:1,5
  • Overall Length [mm]:48

Details were on the data for a replacement bolt. Now to find the correct tap...
