So I have been driving what I believe to be a CR140 a3 tdi manual for a while now and really impressed.
I have decided to buy a 3 door manual next based on this.
I am struggling to choose between CR140 vs CR170 vs 2.0T FSI EA888 in the same car however..
I want a Black Edition.
The car I am driving is a 2009 58 reg S-Line with 2 exhaust pipes. It is the 140hp model so I believe it is a CR140? I really like how it drives. It even makes a nice exhaust sound around 2000rpm.
But CR140 BE's come with a single tip which I hate and its gonna be quite expensive to swap to a double one (new exhaust, new diffuser or even new bumber depending on availability).
From what I have read a remapped cr140 is better than a cr170 however looking at the power and torque curves the 140 has a rather large flatspot, even when remapped. Is a cr170 that laggy?
Then I have the 2.0 TFSI engine. EA888. Is this better? I had an EA113 engined one before but dsg and it was very nice but gobbled fuel! Made a lovely exhaust note though, that a 4 cylinder diesel just cant keep up with.
I do about 300 miles a week but quite a lot of these are short journeys. In my diesels ive found myself going for longer drives than I should just to warm up the car properly so I don't get issues. In a petrol car I wouldn't have to do this?
However I also live near here:
Between spring and autumn I try to go there in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week, atleast 1-2x per week. Can't go at weekends too many cyclists / mad bikers / supercars.
Thanks
