Couple of questions...

As per my other threads, I am still awaiting for my divorce settlement to come through and likely going to get an S5 as my freedom from hell present, but a few questions.

1 - the ZF gearbox - I know they use this box in different manufacturers, but is there anything I need to be aware of within the S5 using this box?
2- start/stop technology - is it possible to actually deactivate this completely as they annoy the heck out of me.
3 - are there any other issues with these cars which are starting to rear their heads?
4 - any reason why I shouldnt get an S5 and pick something else instead?

Bit late jumping in!
but.. It depends which year you pick, Pre 2014 V6 has gear box issues which they resolved in the 14-65 plate models.
Other than checking it has had the gear box serviced every 38k or sooner the CREC engines are well regarded
If you are looking at the older V8 NA s5's, I couldn't say, but the tax is much higher and isn't facelift so depends on your preferences.
