Just wondering if anybody can help.

when i start my car from cold , the cooling fans come on straight away and stay on for about 10 mins.

its only just started doing this, so no idea why.

1.9tdi?

Mine started doing this when I had a weird map on the car so I disconnected the fan and would recommend doing so if it's a diesel, fans are pretty unnecessary on 1.9tdi's and if anything the car has ran better since, no chance of overheating even on the hottest days.

Was down to the awkward temp sensor at back of engine for me. On my 2.4 petrol. Has started to do the same thing again . Think there is a second temp sensor at bottom right of the radiator too.

thanks for the replies, i think the temp sensor is playing up as its the old black type.

i was going to replace it last year but couldnt get it off..

I think fans are controlled by a sensor in the rad on all cars .Maybe its that stuck on.
