Morning all.

There seams to be a lack of photos of Convertibles on here.

I'll be purchasing my first Audi in January (A4 Convertible, 03-05) 1.8T if I can. The reason for the 1.8T is due to the advise by you guys.

The 1.8T is the most economical and quicker than the 2.4 (really finding hard not to look at the 2.4 as they seam to be quite a lot cheaper!

Anyway, I'll have 8k to spend plus my 02 Zafira in exchange if anyone is looking to trade!!

So come on guys, give me some Convertible Porn!!:haha:

Hey footballer, im gona take some pics of my bad boy for you later!!

This is what i'm talking about boys!!! :yahoo:

That Red one is so Sweet! :respekt:

Really finding hard to contain my excitement here!!!!!

1wheelonly...

You is one spoilt dude my friend!

That is a sweet car you have there, and to top it off, a Gixer in the Garage??

What on earth can Mr Christmas get you!!!!:)

mr christmas could pay for my insurance on the gixxer in the garage lol
had a ban a while back, also had a few crashes ( to say the least ) on the bikes, so you can imagine what they want to insure a GSX-R1000 with 181 bhp at the rear wheel. lol
glad you like the car bud, what colour combo you looking at getting, body colour, leather, roof, trim etc ?

Hehe

A ban, unfortunately i've been there too! Ended up with 17 points in the end, and a fine!! That was due to the R6 I had! Bikes, liceince losers!!

Beautiful car my friend. You can see she has been cared for and that is evident in it the pictures.

As for the colour and spec i'm after, well the colour depends on what I see at any one time. I liked Dolphin Grey and now i've seen yours, well!!

As for the spec, i'm really not too fussed other than Leather is a must.

Does anybody know what bodykit is on the blue 1??????

leather yes, dont forget heated seats, i aint got em and thats a big regret, wasnt fussed at all about elecy seats as i have two kids and the elecy seats are a way to slow but really wish i had heated.
i had a dolphin grey saloon before my cab, it was a great car and a lovely colour but no matter how much you polished it, it never really stud out, red is great for that, black is nice, along with any dark colour, mate of mine on here ( markyz180 ) has a dark blue one and that comes up lovely too but its keeping em like it thats the problem.
anther guy on here ( pjmspeedy ) has a grey one but i think its lighter than dolphin grey, thats a nice colour but when i was looking for one, all the grey ones had red leather which i dont like.
mind you, when i was looking, all the red ones were half leather and automatic, took me ages to find the right one, all be it without heated seats.
its a buyers market mate, take your time and keep looking around.
try and sell your zaffy first, then youll have even more freedom to buy from anywhere without being restricted aswell as raped on a part exchange.

Does anybody know what bodykit is on the blue 1??????

dont know mate but i hope your not thinking of ruining your car with one, i know its all down to personal opinion but i think that looks really chavy/tacky.
hey each to there own

No mate, not at all! just havent seen one before.

is that a bad thing ? lol

guy round my way got one on his, exactly the same, colour and all, looks terrible.

I really wish it was a buyers market when it comes to the A4 1.8T convertible.

I've been keeping my eye out now for around a month and can only find the 2.4 in good order.(who's hiding the 1.8T's!!)

There is one I'm hoping is still available in the new year, it's in Kent for £10.890. (http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...rt/priceasc/quicksearch/true/page/2&logcode=p)
If the Garage is not too selfish there may be a deal!

nice choice and fair price, why after xmas, would of thought youd get a good deal before

My money comes through in January.

Garages have January Sales don't they!!!:jump:

if its the one you want then go and see it and check it out and have a deal with him and leave a deposit, hed hold it till jan i bet

That's the best colour to get as well footballer....

much faster than red ones and loads faster than dark blue ones ! :undwech:

Congratulations with these pics guy's, continuing prrof that the A4 is the best looking cabby

Glad your's is back and running 1wheel ;)

Little off topic here, 1 Wheel - Does your mrs use your cab in the week??? sure I seen it unless thats the one I was on about a while back, Sure thats the plate I seen??

Ooooops...the secret is out, she uses it to get to the salon in the week then lets the old man use it at weekends..... :moa:

Footballer, don't write off the others (2.4, 2.5 tdi) til you've tried one mate, you might be surprised? If you can get a 2.4 cheaper than the 1.8t and you've no interest any major engine mods (remaps, big turbs etc) then it may well be worth a go, even the humble 2.5 tdi v6 will out pull the 1.8t's...... up a hill !!!! LOL seriously, both 163 bhp just different in the way the power is delivered.... worth thining about though...

Oh yeah......deffo heated leather if not leatehr/alcantara like the one you're lokking at...

LOL i would the kit mentioned is from poland and if you are not a coach builder then you have no chance of fitting it! it is made from fiberglass and is of poor quality stay away i bought one and these photos were the advert for it .

Anyone have a picture of red leather with silver alu dash inserts?

Hey Marky,

I think you're absolutey right!

I was just doing a little invesigating with regards to the MPG. (Performance isn't an issue for me, however, I don't want to be in the Petrol station all the time!)

The figures on Parkers state that the 1.8T only has an advantage of an additional 3 mpg compared to the 3Ltr combined. (now that totaly surprised me )

So, as a result of this, i'm opening up my options to the full range of engines! :beerchug:

i wouldnt call the 18T fast by a long shot, dont rule others out at all mate, go test some.
ive been in marks 2.5tdi and you wouldnt know any difference at all, not loud, very tourqey and mpg is around the same.

Got to be worth a look mate, I think the 1.8's are the most popular/sort after and are very good!! I get around 30mpg around town in my oil burner but bear in mind I've got the auto (multitronic) so is a little more thirsty. To be honest I would be looking at the spec of the car over the engine, not a fat lot between them....

The first red one with the polished RS4 alloys is mine....3.0 Q petrol.
If you're interested they're 19 inchers and really fill the arches wonderfully.
Yellow/caramel leather interior sounds a bit iffy but believe me looks a treat

Hi Andy,

A very sweet looking Cab if I may say so.
To be honest, I kind of had my mind set on 18" R6's, however, after seeing your ride above, well, decisions decisions again!! :noway:

3.0 Petrol
How do you find the economy? I'm really frightened to take the 3ltr plunge (as much as I want to!) coming from a 1.6 Zafira getting 330 miles per £50 fill up. How many miles would you get out of £50 on moderate driving??

Jeez, thats barely been out of the garage has it!!! Looks a minter mate, nice spec with heated seats, rear parkers and double din symphony unit (makes the rns-e retrofit a piece of cake, you know you'll want one LOL)
But....I paid £2.5k LESS than that for mine, same year with full audi history etc although mine had done 95k miles....

EDIT: ****** hell, just had a quick scan over ebay/atrader, blimey, they're holding their money at the moment aren't they!!!

That looks a bit of a bargain footballer!!!

:icon_thumright:

Let me tell ya Marky,

If it's still there on the 28th and there's no dodgy paintwork, The wallet will have to come out for a deposit!!!:rockwoot:

It doesn't mention any history, however, 25k miles, nothing a good service wouldn't sort out I would think!
(or Pray!)

Go on footballer do it! You know you should.....

It would be nice to have some more Cab members

Doesn't look like they'll be much wrong with that one mate and I'd be very surprised if it hadn't got full audi history, looks like its been a pampered car most of its life!!

Fingers crossed its still there and it turns out to be as good as it sounds, keep us posted :)

footy, that looks a lovely example mate, if it is a good as it looks in the photos and has history then go for it mate.
then you only need RS4 MIRRORS, RNS-E, FLATBOTTOM MULTI STEERING WHEEL, AT LEAST 18" ALLOYS, B7 REAR LIGHT CONVERSION, RS4 PEDALS, ALLY TRIM (although carbon would look better with that colour interior), ROOF MODULE etc etc

dont worry mate, we will all spend your money for you when you get it lol

Footballer....thanks for the comments....
I got them from Wheel-Base.com in Oldham (they have a depot down south too)...with (admittedly cr*ppy Fulda tyres - 235/45/19) they were £634 all in, an on!....3 finishes - Dull Metallic...vert shiny polished...and mine which are somewhere in between! Good quality finishes on them too.

They have showrooms so you can visit and see them against your car etc....I kid you not, once you're there, believe me you're buying 'em! :)
Just make sure that if you did go for them make sure you go for the 'deeper dish' look or else you'll get the 'flat' variety which all the 'other' Audis have...you can nearly hear the pangs of envy when they see mine, especially when they were probably a £850 option at Audi or whatever.

As for the petrol usage, it depends where your coming from...if its a diesel then you'll be disappointed. I had an Audi 80 Cab 2.0 8v before with about 65hp/ton so i was always ragging it to get around....got about 21mpg on that one....The 3.0 has a smaller tank as it's more economical...I used to get just about 300 miles on the old one (heavy footed driving!) and that took 14 gallons (70 litres) or so. My 3.0 has a 63 litre capacity and I get about 330 driving normally and about 365-385 when I 'really' take it easy on a long run....very, very light footed driving. And of course due to the performance advantage over my old one I don't have to rag it everywhere....if I did i'd be doing 145mph everywhere and possibly doing some time!
Hope this helps anyway...I haven't looked back since i got mine...I had the same thoughts as you, but its not that much worse, consumption wise, as the 2.4 (it uses the same block I think and they just stroke or rebore it to get to 3.0) though you'll never beat the 35+mpg of the 1.8...but then again, the 1.8 doesn't have 220hp...or 245 with a remap as mine has!
Fantastic is the good word for this car...just shop about and pick a good one...I waited nearly 18months getting mine and noticed that every 3 months or so a real gem came up somewhere....after misisng 2 of them I eventually pounced and haven't looked back.
I ended up travelling 250 miles to get it....best train ticket I've ever bought!
You only live once!
