All i can say it was a North East dealer, like other posts on here the salesmen has asked me not to tell anyone due to the fact people will be coming in expecting a discount. My local Audi dealership even though I'm a previous customer wouldn't entertain any sort of discount.

£550 a month £7k down on carbon edition.
What was the interest rate, I have been told flat rate of 6.2% for all RS products. I got the autoglym life shine thrown in for free that was all. No discounts being offered on the car. I'll probably get a ceramic coating put on the car anyways but every little helps I guess.

I'm 6.2% as well. Free tank of fuel and free trailered delivery to me worth £400.

They usually charge for the fuel as part of the OTR price

I can’t believe there’s any genuine discounts, as in not counting favours or loyalty discounts etc. And these online brokers… don’t believe they will be honoured either.
For starters, this is a brand new RS model, they don’t need to discount. Secondly, you can barely get hold of a clapped out Dacia Sandero right now because of supply chain issues and parts shortages, so prices are going up, never mind getting discounts.

At least you can spec what you want on that clapped out Dacia!

Discounts come in all shapes and sizes, each dealer can work out if they sell enough cars to meet the volume-related bonuses which can be significant, and then pass them on to the customer. Same for finance-related bonuses, etc. I'm pretty sure that 3-5% discount is realistic for the larger dealers.

The 'discount' for armed forces etc. is a fleet deal, the manufacturer/UK sales arm funds that with a different dealer margin structure. All car manufacturers have a dedicated sales channel for various forms of fleet, based on minimum volume commitments. The cost of sale is lower as there is no/limited dealer engagement, test drive and the like. The 13% discount offered by the public sector brokers is probably all or most of the dealer margin, and the dealer is just getting a handling fee, but it all counts to their targets and don't forget most of the volume is channeled through only a few select dealers so they get all the volume. You can't walk into your local dealer and get them to match it, as they have no mechanism to fund it.

Good points well made. A known fact is that some dealers will actually sell a new car for little or no margin at all, as the proper money is to made meeting volume targets and the related cash they get there. All about timing and luck at times. All of these are most unlikely on brand new models along with the lower volume desirability of the RS products but not impossible

I was quoted £553 a month for carbon with 10k down at 6.2%. GFV after 49 months was £29,402
Was that with options or standard carbon edition?

You can definitely get discounts just gotta shop around at all dealers and get in touch with every broker you can find online.
You can save around £1,179.20 on a Vorsprung saloon + exclusive paint from AutoeBid, nothing showing on their website but if you email them the Audi code they can get in touch with their dealer network and quote you.

Got £2085 off a carbon saloon with c&s pack didn’t really haggle, just asked the question if there’s any room and salesman knocked it off the price within 2 mins
*** I only got a grand off, same spec. Thought I’d done ok. Need to improve my haggling skills :)

Thing is I haggled the **** out of my rs3 sport edition and got a cracking deal, with this I thought there would be no room whatsoever, just asked the question if there’s any discount and the salesman went away. Came back 2 mins later and offered me that discount, just took it without trying as I thought I’d done ok without trying

I was quoted £513 a month for carbon in grey with £12k down at 6.2%. GFV after 49months was £29664.

Usually it’s about £21 a month per £1k deposit so for a £7k deposit I would expect a monthly of around £610….

Given the GFV and interest rate is the same and my quote was for base spec, something doesn’t quite seem to make sense to me to get a £550 a month payment although I’d welcome that payment with open arms

Who did you go with ? This is one of the reasons I'am not jumping in I want a decent discount from my dealership for being a continuous customer

Jardines. I think some of it is just pot luck there’s so many variables and if it’s in their interests to give a bit more discount to get the sale they will. I don’t expect to see any massive discounts at the moment so I’m happy with what I got. I reckon the longer you wait the higher the chance of discount would be. But then there’s the strong used car market that I wanted to take advantage of as it’s probably never coming along again

Same here, I was gonna hang on till the cars roll out to the showrooms and haggle for discounts but the equity in my car at the min outways any discount I could hope for. My deposit on this car is basically the equity on my 19 plate rs3, and the monthly is a hell of a lot lower, so like you I’m getting in while the goings good
