As the new car industry comes in with new features a lot of us that have the older cars are left envious of the spec/tech they are bringing out, I'm still trying to find a way of fitting Matrix lights to my C6, not going to benefit much as a quad xenon setup would have more light output but the cool factor is certainly there.

So onto the subject and new product I have choose to get in and sell and provide aftersales service on.

Colour changing footwell LED system which can be controlled via an App on you IOS or Android device using Bluetooth. I was always a fan of just having the simple White LED's for the footwells but in 2016 my sales for coloured footwell lights tripled from that of previous years so got me thinking, why not try get a kit where if you want white then leave it in white, then if your mood changes then change the colour.

I tested this kit back in SEPT, great kit but needed some improvements so got onto the factory that made them and we changed them from remote controlled IR to Bluetooth operated, I also pushed for them to be fitted into a VAG housing lamp as most VAGS from 2003 have the cut out for the lamps and also the features in the CE modules to run footwells.

So, these will fit cars that have the light pack and have footwell lights and also go into cars that don't have the light pack but can have them retrofitted, its mainly for cars after 2003 but if your unsure then just ask.

Fitting: If you have the light pack already fitted I will mod the connector to get your power feed from where you unplug your existing lamp, if no light pack is fitted then you will need or have access to VCDS to get these working.

The RRP is £124.99 posted within the UK. I have 30 Kits coming in Jan which I have had to push for as They go on holiday from 21st to the 12th of feb and they said getting the raw materials would be hard but we have managed 30 sets which will be sold on a 1st come 1st served basis and will be £99 per kit posted, if the demand exceeds I will keep the price for £99 for the whole of Jan but if you order after the 1st 30 sets are sold then there will be a 6 week wait.

Here is a Vid of the colours which also shows the App in use, there is also a picture of the lamps fitted, I have another set arriving tomo so I will try and get a lot more pictures of the system and kit.

Here is the link if you want to place an order, estimated delivery is by the 25th Jan. - https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=CQVF8VCB6BSTS - WHEN ORDERING PLEASE PUT IN THE NOTES, THE MODEL OF YOUR CAR, YEAR IT WAS MADE AND IF YOU HAVE FOOTWELL LIGHTS ALREADY OR NOT, ALSO A PHONE NUMBER INCASE I NEED TO CONTACT YOU FOR MISSING INFO.

Whoa, these look pretty awesome, Trups. I've seen colour changing LEDs in a lot of the American cars I hire and wondered why they're not more popular here.

How many lights can be controlled by the app at one time? Could it be extended to also change colour in the lights in the door cards or ambient LEDs in the roof?

As this kit has 4 new lamps, wiring and Bluetooth Module, the module has 1 live so doing the doors to work on their own is hard, I am working with them to try and move this across to other parts so can do 4 individual puddle lights individually which may then extend onto other lamps but ATM its just the footwell lamps but is a starting point.

A few more pictures.

The lamps they have placed them in are found in VW's and Seat's, you can see that the lamp has the diffuser/ridged plastic, on my test set I sanded these down smooth so as the lamps cause a kind of dotting, similar whats seen on the A3 8P footwells, I should be able to make them all smooth before they are sent out so you don't have to lift a finger.

For the Bluetooth controller, if you have footwell lights I will be adding the female connector on there so you take your feed from there, if you don't have the light pack then you will get the correct pin for you to plug into your CEM to then code in for the Power. There is a QR code on the rear, you just scan that and it will find the app to download but more info on that when the kits are here.

The Loom. you will need to run the loom around the car, this is the same process if you don't have footwell lights already, if you have the footwell lights you need to run this loom around which will need trim removing but there are plenty of guides on the forum so you will be in good hands.

Perfected in house to my liking. Ridges removed so all kits will come in and I will mod them so its smooth meaning a better light output for all sets.

Vid of these in action with the app will be take later tonight.

Thanks

I'm looking forward to seeing the video. What difference does removing the ridges on the inside make? Is it something you offer on the while versions too?

Give you a better distribution of light and makes the colour more exact to what you want it to be, the pigment in the plastic when ridged will make it look different and also cause a dotted affect on the floor.

White version don't need it smoothing as the plastic pigment colour is different to the lamp used in this setup.

If there's still a set left come payday, I'll definitely pick some up!

Hi Trups,

Just seen this and remembered....
Not sure if you remember but I spoke to you at AITP about this and about having a length of LED strip light instead of the small square lights so it gives you a band of light rather than it coming from one point. Is this possible? I'd be interested in a set for my B5 RS4. I love them in my S-Class and think they make the cabin feel so much more cosy if you know what I mean?
I'd also be interested in extending this lighting to other subtle parts of the interior too but I'd have to have a look at what would be accessible and tucked away enough that it wouldn't notice that it was a modification, more OEM spec.
Let me know, thanks.

I'd love to do the same on the main roof lights in my S8. You can make out the filament of the halogen bulb through the frosted cover, so I'm sure it'll be the same with an LED. an array of LEDs in the right size would look awesome.

I was more talking about 450mm long to go under the dash from centre console to door, if you know what I mean, so a long line of hidden LEDs, like the S-Class.

Id have to speak to the supplier and see what can be done in the way of getting a strip to work with the Bluetooth controller, I have not seen anything out there that works like this controller and App so would need to see if other lamps will work with it, if it does then it can be done.

OK mate, let me know what they say and i'll get some measurements for you and you can price the lot up.

Thanks

I can sort a different type for you with different app, I did a set for some headlights before I got this app version in, worked great also but the controller was not waterproof but I don't think that will matter if it's in the car right?

That would be fine mate. Just to confirm, I can set them to whatever colour I want, then any time I get in or out the car, they will stay that same colour? I wouldn't want them to default to another colour and have to change them whenever I need them (which I highly doubt is the way it works but thought I'd check! lol).
I guess you'll want measurements for each area now? If you do, I'll get you some dimensions and give you some precise instructions on length of LED strip, length of cable from LED strip to nearest light for connection etc. Can you connect more than one LED strip into a light fitting? I'm guessing you could as the draw from an LED strip will be a lot less than the draw from a capsule or other filament lamp?

Hi T8ups, are these designed to only come on when the footwell lights normally turn on, or can these stay on whilst driving (perhaps using the controller)?

All depends what car they go on, if your car don't have the function to have the, lit when the car is on then you would need to get a feed to it, as this kit connects to your BCM module then they are only lit when doors are open.

Nothing to stop you wiring it different tho.

Get me the measurements and il build something for you bud.
