Hi
Is it possible to code the High Beam Assist using vcds ? I have the rain sensor camera on my windscreen of my 2019 A1.

Not with the rain sensor . You need either the front driver assist camera in the windscreen or a mirror with the camera on the front

Hi 1Rockape
Thank you for the reply, I do have driver assist camera as it has road sign and pedestrian recognition, lane departure warning, pre sense front and light and rain sensors. Does this mean it is possible now?

Yes . You will need a coding device . Vcds obdeleven ect and code the a5 module and adaptions in 09

Ive got a record of my a3 coding with a 5q camera . What is your camera part number and coding

Yes do a autoscan it will bring up the part numbers and codings for your modules. Djalix has done a very good guide on here somewhere re vcds .

Its a 3q camera mine was a 5q camera . The adaptions are the same i think.but codings are different . You dhould head over to the vw golf mk 7 and 7.5 they have the same camera as ive seen threads on there also the polo ect. Youll get all the info there mate

The 5q camera only has 17 bytes where as the 3q camera has 3 to 4 more
Have you had a go in the long coding , im sure theres on a couple to change .1 to turn on hba and the other for light type . I assume you have non matrix led ?

Also check out the britskoda forum . They habe the 3q camera . Failing that i have a number for a guy who can do remotely. Where are you based ?

Hi 1Rockape
I haven't tried anything yet and I have the led lights. I'll have a look at the britskoda forum.
I am based in County Durham

Hi 1Rockape
I started to try this after looking at those sites you had giving me

09 Central Electronics
Security Code. 31347
Adaption 10
Then in the pull down menu I only found these 5 under Assistant light function:

Assistant light function-Assistenzfahricht bei regen. (assistant driving in rain)
Assistant light function-Humidity sensor
Assistant light function-Lichtsensorempfindlicht keit (light sensor sensitivity light)
Assistant light function-ls error ausgabe (is error output)
Assistant light function-Maskierung regenfunktion (masking rain function)

Was looking for something like:
Assistant light function-Menuesteurung fernlichtassistant (Menu control high beam assistant)

The only one out of them 5 that sounds remotely possible but I think it's for when it starts to get darker is:
Assistant light function-Lichtsensorempfindlicht kien (Light sensor sensitivity light)

These are what I used on my A3 and TT and I think are the same across the board. But without the relevant codings in A5 module won’t work

Hi 1Rockape
I've just noticed in the mmi under the external lights, it shows where you can switch the high beam assist on or off but the activation time where you could change from high, medium and low has disappeared, it was there before I coded the high beam assist. Should it still be there?

Hi 1Rockape
I've have reverted back to the beginning and recoded it slightly different and it now works correctly with the mmi showing Activation Time

Great . Did you test the hba?what changes had you made that removed the menu as it wasnt in the list of adaptions i sent?

@MELenium
hey did you end up activating hba ?
i have camera in the front but was not able to figure out what version it was… obd eleven app showing “on v3”
no menu option or anything in mmi

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated

Hi Giroyac
I sold my A1 and I now have a 21 A3 8y which means yours and mine has the dreaded SDF security, meaning you need tokens from Audi. Having said that I have used Obdeleven pro to bypass SFD and also using VCDS. But unfortunately I still have not succeeded in having a working HBA. Audi seem to have put an extra security on top of SFD which apparently can only be bypassed through an Audi dealer. In Obdeleven the app gives you the option to add HBA using 100 credits but it has never worked for me.

The only drama with bypassing is that if for whatever reason the car goes back to Audi they will remove any mods that have been done.
