Hello everyone.

Over the last 25k miles or so my clutch has started to slowly make a rattle when the pedal is depressed. I have 125k on the car.

There is no slip under power, no juddering when I set off, no noise at all with the pedal raised. Just this rattle when it's depressed. Unsure if it's the clutch plate(s) with some play in them or the DMFW is on its way out.

Video which has the sound audible

Anything to worry about?

I don't know if this is related but I had the judder in my car from the flywheel. It would only occur when setting off in 1st gear. I didn't get it looked at soon enough and looking back now I think the flywheel destroyed the gearbox. It sounds rotational to me so it could be the clutch friction plate spinning. There is a little access panel under the gearbox which can be removed to see the clutch spinning under idle speeds. Try to get it on a ramp/lift and see what you can see when the pedal is pressed.

Clutch thrust bearing (or called release bearing) can be a cause of a rattle with the clutch depressed.
