Hey guys, my clutch has started to slip under boost and im confused what one to get from here
Clutch Kit | Quality Clutch Kits for any car | Car Clutch Kit

Basicly my car was 150BHP standard but re-mapped upto 196BHP. My question is can i fit a standard replacement clutch for a 180BHP version or would i be better getting a better one? Im guessing if i just get a replacement one for a standard 150BHP A3 1.8T then it will not last long and start slipping again under the extra horses.
I dont want to spend stupid money on a clutch, just one that will do the job. No more than £140.

Last question, how long will it take to do. Ive heard its about a 5 - 6 hr job?

Standard flywheel and clutch will be fine for those sorts of power levels, and even up to K03S 220 BHP area.

Solid flywheels are a worthwhile investment on the A3s IMO, not for performance, but for the fact they won't need to be done again.

Euro Car Parts do a solid flywheel conversion kit. It's not a specialist thing, there are a lot of 'off the shelf' options for that.

So just getting a standard replacment clutch will do the job? Dont want to fit a standard 150bhp cluth only to find it slips again 3 months later. :-(

it will do the job fine mate. the ECS kit will out last it but the valeo one with probably last longer than ull own the car

How much can i expect to pay for a OEM one and were from?

Standard one is fine mate, unless you like launching the car regularly, and drive like a loone 90% of the time, then wear on the standard clutch wouldn't be much more with the extra power, it really depends on your driving style. RichA3Turbo was running his standard clutch for ages with his IHI 320bhp+ set up for ages, so you have nothing to worry about.

Yeah i saw the links but in post one i said i didnt want to pay over £140.

How about this OEM one?
AUDI A3 TT 1.8 i TDI 20V CLUTCH KIT - VICTORIAAUTOPARTSUK.CO.UK

Ahhh, missed that.

If you aren't looking to pay over £140, then what happened if you take the clutch off and the DM Flywheel is goosed, like they often are?

Just trying to warn you - it is normal practise to change the Dual Mass flywheel at the same time as the clutch, as they normally show signs of wear... It can be done without doing it - BUT - what happens if 2000 miles later, the flywheel gives up, smashes your new clutch to bits, and then you have to do the whole lot again?

Just a thought...

That clutch you found on ebay seems reasonable, but I don't really like fitting unbranded products personally. That is getting on for £70 by the time it's delivered - or you could get this: (Transmech Audi - Euro Car Parts UK) for £96.35 delivered.

Up to you dude - just trying to play devil's advocate.

Yeah i did see this one "Transmech Clutch Kit" that you linked. Think i might be going for that one. Dificult really as im not a fan of cheap crap normaly but dont want to shell out £200 plus when moneys is tight these days.

Thanks for the info tho :)
