Clutch question: Could you use 170 CR parts in 140CR - and then Stg1 remap?

Hi all
Thinking of remapping to Stg1 c.180bhp shortly, and it's inevitable the standard clutch will go.
Is it a sensible move to fit a 170 LUK DMF, pressure plate and cover, slave etc to the 140?
These parts seem reasonable on ECP especially when they have a 20-25% sale on (Haven't asked Mike as yet for a VAG take on these parts)
I'm not gonna do mad stuff like drag racing, launching etc, just midrange oomph in the 40-70 range?

Remapping - as the good guys are so far from me, Rick and Paul, it looks like Revo - very pricey at £480 but just down the road.
Anyone in the North London /Herts area have a great mobile mapper they can recommend?
140CR CBAB lump.
I'm keeping the DPF and the EGR has the reducer plate which seems to be OK thus far, keeping a good deal of the **** out of the induction area, but allowing some gases through to keep the ECU and DPF sweet.
Thanks
Rog

seems expensive for a remap @£480 and no dpf delete either

That's really expensive for a remap and most likely a straight flash map from mobile.
I've heard nothing but good things about storm development in Aldermaston Reading, S3 Alex had a lot of his work done there although there not mobile well worth the travel. £200 for a remap by them.

I've recently fitted a cbbb (170) bare block in place of a cbab (140) and when I changed the dmf and clutch, from what I could gather they both use the same clutch

Thanks for the replies. Storm looks good at £199, I must say, don't know anything about them myself.
£480 for a remap and no rolling road setup seemed crazy to me so I have been hesitant about it. The good thing with Revo is that they seem to know what they are doing and give you 30 days to give it a good try, plus if it goes wrong they are near. Maybe that is worth £280 more, I just don't know?

When I looked up the clutch parts, it seemed that the 170 and 140 used different part numbers, I better go and recheck that if you say they are the same.

Don't quote me on that. But I did have a quick look and also the bloke at euros confirmed it also.. please let me know your findings. Thanks

Yup you are right, for CBAB and CBBB it is the same number for 2009MY - 022 141 015 S.
So the same for 170 and 140 outputs, hmm might need something a bit beefier then.
Sachs organic / another LUK, any ideas please?

@S3Alex has used both revo and storm developments well worth his input on it. I still think £480 is expensive it's £400 at amd essex with 2 roller sessions 1 before 1 after.
They do revo but not sure if that price is for revo

I enquired about that myself only thing is you need the interface which is £200 + the map price, might aswell drive there for that! Plus you live in London like me and getting the logs he needs will be quite a drive unless you have access to private roads long enough!

AMD aren't Revo dealers now...they do their own maps, and APR's.

Storm did the Syvecs ECU fitting and mapping on my car, plus sorting out the 8 injector setup,so I can safely say that they know what they're doing.
The only downside may be that they are VERY busy indeed,so it would be worth speaking to Andy at Storm,or Ben at AMD if you choose either of those.

They sorted the overboost on my turbo which they was highly doubtful they could fix and it needed a new turbo.
Adjusted the actuator to the same psi as other turbos they had laying around off bkd which turned out around 5.
Really know there stuff seeing as it had been to 3 places and had a recon trial fitted with the same problems!
That it storm developments for you!

Think I'm taking mine to darkside developments.. 480 for stage 1 plus dpf removal

They have plenty of expertise from what I can gather, and that is a good price too.

From what I can gather researching DPF removal for quite a while, it seems likely that a particulate test will be introduced for diesels during the MOT, which is why I have decided not to delete mine. Not sure when but the "authorities" seem aware of it and are taking action. I think you might be OK for a year or two but beyond that, who knows?

Having said that, my light has never come on, maybe I haven't even got one lol. My 1.6 tdi came on on day 1 new and regularly after that, it was bloomin nuisance too!
