My car is on 104k miles and probably the original clutch, so there is no real surprise that it's started to slip after the DV was replaced and Bluefin Stage one is installed.
I'm not looking to go stage 2 or higher, I'm passed all that these days so I want the car to be reliable with the approx 300bhp it's currently at.

It's only started slipping mildly in 6th gear when putting my foot down, so it's not urgently required (I can revert to standard to prolong it's life if needed) but I will want it doing sooner rather than later.

Will OEM parts be ok with a mild Stage 1 map?
Or should I be looking at something a bit better?
I assume the flywheel will need replacing too?
What do people recommend and what are the best prices for these parts?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link, but I'm reluctant to buy a used clutch to be honest.
I have found a clutch company online who can do a stage one and stage two clutch for similar money, so I'd rather do that if needed.
That said, if a brand new stock clutch can take the stage one remap power then I'm happy staying OEM.
I have no need to go higher than a stage one, so any extra spent above the minimum requirement would be money I won't have for days out with my daughter.

What is the name of the online company?

Stock/OEM would be fine for Stage 1.

If you’re going to go further then there is several options available including single mass flywheel and dual mass. For what it’s worth I’ve just fitted a SPEC 2+ clutch and smf and although I ts very OEM feeling we’re just not in love. I’d personally be going dmf next time.

I get no chatter normally associated to SMF but it grabs, vibration in 5th & 6th accelerating and decelerating (maybe this was masked by the previous stock clutch?), and sticking in 1st & reverse when parking (again maybe another gearbox issue highlighted by the new clutch)

That's good to know, thanks for the advice. I'd rather stay with DMF to keep vibration down and the stock feel.

I am leaning towards the stage 1 clutch on that website just for extra peace of mind.
It's only an extra £50 dearer than the best quote I have had for a stock clutch, so it's likely to handle the Stage 1 remap easily and last for a few years.
I was quoted £275 for the Standard DMF and bolts.

I contacted the guys at http://www.clutch-specialists.co.uk...Engine+Code+2006-08&submit_search=Go&part_no= a few days ago seeking more info and confirmation before I part with my cash.
Despite providing all the info they requested on their 'contact us' email, they messaged back asking for the vehicle reg (no idea why this isn't requested on the form) so I replied straight away with the registration, and I haven't heard anything since despite chasing up my enquiry.
So, if you are considering using that website, beware that they don't like helping potential customers.

I've now found an uprated Sachs clutch and flywheel kit with all parts needed for a good price, so I will be buying them on payday.

Whats your engine code

I fitted the Sachs organic clutch with OEM dmf, and it's heavier than stock but easy to drive once used to it. It's sore on your left leg if you go to the gym and do legs then drive in lots of town traffic .
I fitted the Sachs release bearing with mine which went faulty and had to be replaced and cost me extra money as Sachs wouldn't cover all the costs of replacement. Look at fitting a LUK release bearing.

Not sure but would an 8V clutch fit the 8P ?
