Clutch Master Cylinder

The part number I have for the clutch master cylinder is 1J2721388A. I ordered the master cylinder last week by giving my chassis number and I picked it up from Audi this morning. However I just noticed the part number of the one they gave me is 6Q0721388D.

I did a search on http://www.vagcat.com for 6Q0721388D and it doesn't even show up.

I rang another Audi garage and asked was 1J2721388A superseded and they said no.

Doing a google for 6Q0721388D shows up references Skoda and Seat?

I'd like to figure out what the story is with this before I ring back the Audi garage I got the part from. Any ideas anyone?

We bought a Clutch master usuing the Reg for our 2001 1.8TQS A3 and it was a direct fit and the number was 6Q0 721 388d. At a cost of £54.56 inc VAT from my local VW dealer
