What would be the typical cost of having this replaced on a 2.0tdi 2011 plate, at an independent garage/ clutch fitting specialist?

Just wondering as a car that I’m going to view which has not had this replaced yet ( currently on 135k). No issues with the car currently and has fash

There’s another come up for sale a a garage with 120k on it that’s had the clutch and dual
Mass done.

Just wondering to myself if I’m better considering the car that’s had the work done, as I’m not sure how big the clutch bill could be.

Tbh I prefer the look of the car with 135k as it’s a facelift

Thanks

Sean

If you take it to an independent specialist you are looking at around £900 in parts and around £800 in Labour so £1700 total. I done mine on my drive to save some money. Took 16 hours and was a pig of a job.

Ouch!
Hey ho, I’ve just taken the plunge and bought myself an A5 coupe facelift model. I’m very happy with it but will have to take that on the chin when it happens. It’s got fash and mainly motorway miles with 135k on it. I’ve read a few threads where folk have the 3.0tdi and have got to 180k before they needed doing. Mines the 2.0 tdi but I guess the same principle, how it’s driven

Nice. My wife has just got a A5 facelift Lovely cars. Mine is the 2.0tdi A4. It was juddering when pulling away in 1st when it was hot. It done that for the last 50000 miles. I finally had to give in and change the clutch and flywheel due to a nasty rattle that developed.
