Climate control retrofit

Hi, I'm new to the forum and just bought a 1.6 SE

It has the basic air-con controls, can the climate control be retrofitted as there are quite a few panels going cheap on eBay.

Is it a straight swap or is there a lot more to it.

Not a straight swap and there is quite a lot more to it. Not one for the novice/enthusiast.

Unfortunately its not just a panel swap. A lot of bits behind the dash need changing and indeed adding + coding via software. Not a job I would take on.

I'm pretty competent on vcds, do you know what else other than the panel is required.

Wiring, sensors, heating ducts, heater boxes, motors, cp removal to name but a few

Unfortunately VCDS and alike cannot be used to add / adjust pipework and electrical connections etc. You will need to have your dashboard out and also complete works in the engine bay. If you really want to dig in to this as a project I suggest sourcing ElsaWin and investigating the needed works.
