Climate control problem?

My wives A4 climate control does not seem to be working correctly. If you adjust the temperature control up or down you can get hot or indeed very cold air blowing through the vents. Sugesting the AC works. However, if you leave it on auto it does not adjust the speed or temperature up or down accordingly. Is this some sort of sensor failure or something?

Any ideas?

interesting, I have a similiar problem, in that the AC works but only when the temp is in the LOW setting

any other setting it blows hot/warm -- the auto adjustment of the temp is fubard

Any idea what any of that means? :lol:

I'm guessing stepper motor / vent flapper motor. They live behind the glovebox. Can you cycle through basic settings using vcds lite? If not try and get the full version to run some basic tests.
