Clicking sound from under the dash

Over the last couple of months, my car has developed a clicking or tapping sound under the dash.

It started off only happening driving home from work but now it is all of the time.

A/C on or off. Hot or cold. It does it all the time.

Sounds like it is coming from under the steering wheel and it is an irregular timed tap/click.
Just one tap at a time.

Has anyone else experienced/heard this?

I guy on VW Vortex was told by his dealer that it was a gas leak detection pump doing it's thing which I find bizarre.

Just had some warranty work done 2 weeks ago so don't want to go back yet.

Take the cover off the fuse box at the end of the dash to the right of the steering wheel and listen. Sounds like a relay clicking in and out. Might just want pulling out and refitting but sounds like its shot if its clicking all the time.
If it is a relay you can tell which one by resting your finger on it and you will feel it click.

mine does this but goes away when i disable start-stop. not sure if my10 s3's had start-stop?

Nah no start/stop on my S3.
I will check the relays.
