chrome door trims

how do you bring the chrome (alloy) door trims back to life once they have gone milky?? the ares around the edge of the door (where people close doors) are still shiny and nice? any ideas???

You replace them.They are plastic chrome, and dont respond to polish.Its a common fault....I had two replaced on by old b7 within 18 months.

Is your (or has your..) car taken to a local handwash? Often, it's the strong TFR cleaners such places use that will attach and 'eat' those finishes; my Avant suffers just the same and no matter what I threw at it, nothing would improve things.
