Finally ... after long time on my "to do list", time has come to do it ... . 4 hours of prep and covering I've ... run out of cover tape 4 rolls of decorating tape has left me with 2 doors and both side mirrors not covered. Hopefully will pick up some more tape tomorrow from local 1000 and 1 pieces shop and complete this mod. So far ... back ache's and I'm fed up with it. Little bit more patience will result soon with look I was after. Fingers crossed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tried twice and couldn't get around the rear/boot window chrome curve. Wanted to have it all in one piece but failed. Plastidip looks like my inly option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got the tape so finished masking. and off We go with first cote Another one in half an hour Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Another coat and it already looks like I wanted Remembered that I haven't done rear A6 badge so ... second coat on that also Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It would, Steve but they pita to remove. Would've done it looooong time ago. So far, finished product looks like that Few spots need touch ups but overall, I'm happy with result Once the car is washed, I'll drop some daylight pictures. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks good, will be interesting to see how it stands up to everyday wear and tear. I had the S7 chrome wrapped.
Thank you Raf. Did you do it yourself or pro's? The rear end of the trim on your car is even more difficult as have sharper curve. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Had various thing plastidipped in the past and even on this car, including recent dipped grille and it's holding great. Even pressure washer not doing any harm, if applied correctly and I did. Once the car is clean sorted you'll see the whole package. You motor look great too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah,I know. It would go together well. Wanted to keep the silver details (mirrors, rear diffusor, front lip, badges). Maybe later Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
that's looking pretty damn good to be honest. My chrome bits need a polish to restore shine but seeing this is nice. well done fella.
Thank you Pete. It took some time to do and effort but it was worth it. Like John (@TAF_57) said "if it'll stands to everyday wear and tear" and with a huge pity must say it hasn't After few rides it started to peel off at the door frames. Door rubber rub's it hard. I think it is time to wrap it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Aaaand all gone Well, the door surround is gone. Left the handle and lower door trim chrome dipped. Already have an idea how to delete it to hopefully longer lasting result. Pity my wife doesn't like it
Had my chrome round windows and roof rails wrapped. Need to decide on exhaust and get black tails next.
Still thinking about it as my better half is complaining about the "ugly look" car had with chromes deleted Have to chauffeur her around so she think she can complaint. LOL
Yes. Door handle and lower door trim chromes are still deleted. Look alright like that. Need to clean, wash and polish the car but will post some pictures. Roof rails are also left non deleted as they not as much shiny. Thinking about the side skirts in sliver also. Think it will add nice touch to the color scheme I try to do and nicer appearance. All this might be even disturbed by recent agreement with my wife, that We like new Sepang colour. Maybe I will get the car wrapped in that shade and chromes with bits, wrapped in black high gloss. We'll see
also on my "to-do-list" are the exhaust tips. Don't want to change the whole back boxes as it may be too loud. Have currently B pillars and small triangles on back doors carbon wrapped as a trial if I like it. Was thinking of carbon exhaust tips to complement it but cannot find any to suit my liking.
Seen and heard a video on YT where a guy gutted he's 2.0 A6 C6 back boxes and fit a straight pip in them. It certainly increased the buzz volume while idle. Also louder with acceleration
WOW! That is too loud for me. I would like to still enjoy the quality of the ride. Will consider it but would like to hear it in reality. Maybe will attend a show or meet with someone who had done mufflerectomy.
Looks wicked. Did you just changed to honeycomb or deleted chrome? Love your interior, man. Always fancied dark colour cars and light interior. Are these RS seats? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Replaced s6 2 tone grey stock grill with gloss black rs6 honeycomb. Supersport Seats are std on the S6. The seats are a pig to keep clean. Far more work than the tan in my 7 series.
Right. Just noticed double twin exhaust you've got. Looks really nice all blacked out, bud. So it is SE and Sline have those standard seats? What's the comfort in your seats? Comparable to Sline and difference is only in headrest or much better seating? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Those seats are in the S6 /RS6 V10's only. Can't comment on comfort as haven't been in another A6 4F in 10years. They are pretty decent seats - but could do with massage function.
Did you got it brand new from the showroom? Was it at least the option back then, to have a massage seats? I love Alcantara on my Sline seats. Would probably boil with full leather ones in these weathers. I'm sure light interior require more work and care but the look it has is something different. Daily only me drives it and I think I could cope with off white interior. If I would drive kids around every day, I know I wouldn't. I'll see in future as the growing up so school runs might start and than I will be worshiping current dark interior. LoL Roof lining and pillars could be done in something more appealing and matching to Alcantara rather what they did currently. Feels cheap and rubbish, compare to seats. Mate has a 2013 Honda CRV and he loves it but he recently got a ride in mine and even he confirmed better finish on interior. He's just disgusting plastic and leather seats. Uuggghhhhh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here she is: As promised, fresh picture with chrome delete around the windows taken off. Got her yesterday washed, waxed, polished and all that. Sore arm but result is brilliant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
