Ok guys I've been on about this for a while now, but am having my car's scratch (vandalism) repaired tomorrow and am STILL looking at changing.
The choices are down to just 2, namely
BMW 335 coupe = 302bhp 295ft lbs 0-62 in 5.5s
Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 2002 facelift 3.6 = 320bhp 275ft lbs 0-62 in 5.0s
Both similar i.e. coupe's with similar performances. The BMW having twin turbos can be remapped up to c370bhp so will take sprint time down below the Porsche.
The Beemer will have only c10k miles and be covered by warranty for 2+yrs. The Porsche may come with a warranty but I may have to cover the £800 fee per year for this.
The Beemer is slightly bigger and therefore roomier for me, the wife and nipper, although the 996 is big enough too. The Bimmer will do c30mpg, and the 996 c25mpg. So all fairly similar.
I've not yet driven the 335, but I have the 996 (and obviously great).
