Booked my wee A3 into a guy to do a full service, change timing-belt, water pump, etc, oil/filter change he quoted me 280.00 for the job which includes him buying everything he needs to do the work. is this a good price? I also asked him to fit a new p/s front wheel bearing/hub, he wasn't sure of the cost for the part but he said he'd just charge for the part and not the fitting as it will be done at the same time as the other work.

Good dealz?

My wee A3 isn't running the same as it used to when I first got it and to be honest I find myself losing heart in the poor wee motor because of all the wee knocks and clunks I head whilst driving. it's just not as solid driven as it was before.

if you know his work, then yep thats a steal of a price imo

Cool cool Bloblob, I don't personally know of his work but my boss always goes to him and has done so for many of years, as my boss is also an Audi man he recommended me to him. hopefully my boss is good to his word. but this guy seems to be on top of things. I'm dropping it off on sunday night and collecting it monday after work. just want it back to the solid driver it was. :)

Sounds almost too cheap to be true!

What's the catch.

As lomg as the work is done with new parts, done sympathetically (e.g. attention to detail and not rushed with a tray full of unused bolts at the end - e.g. as there would be if I did it!) then tear his arm off. Make sure it comes with a receipt and a guarantee of 'x' months!

car will be ready tomorrow for collection with all the repairs done. so it was 280.00 for the service, timing belt/waterpump etc change oil and filter change. and an other 100.00 to fit the p/s/f wheel bearing. ( prices included buying of parts ).

so in total its costing me 380.00 give or take a few quid. sound good?

Cheapest I found my cambelt and water pump for was £250 from a VAg specialist so sounds like a decent price!
