The car is about 15mm lower with the Koni sport's and stock rear springs, I set them a quarter turn from full soft.
I wsa intending to buy springs but its the Baby's birthday so they can wait.

Small update - still on the ko3-011

so the set up was pulling 169 G/S through the MAF
Porting and gasket matching the inlet manifold with a phenolic spacer brought that up to a reliable 171 G/S
Fitted a 3 inch Direnza decat to replace stock downpipe and cat, MAF is still peaking at 171 G/S

The car feels likes it pulls better at high RPM even though no higher peak figures recorded. Hitting the rev limiter it 2nd, 3rd & 4th she wouldn't give anymore.

Borg Warner claim this turbo is only good for 170 G/S, I'm still working on it

Just for completeness

Car pulls 170.97 G/S peak and 160 G/S from 5500 rpm up, which is the potential for 200+ hp from 5500rpm to rev limiter.
Stock Ko3 seems maxed out

Current engine specifications
Stock Ko3-011
7psi extension spring on the wastegate
Generic Spec 1 ecu flash
Phenolic inlet manifold spacer
Gasket matched mildly ported inlet manifold
SFS Supersize Tip
S2000 cone with alloy heat shield
210n diverter
Alloy SMIC
Direnza Silcone boost hoses
Sytec ITP331 fuel Pump
3" Direnza decat (no peak gains in air flow)

Adhoc
Injectors and FPR have been ultrasonically cleaned

Fun with the 1.8t never ends, I had the infamous clutch pedal snap two days ago in rush hour at a busy junction.
Apparently the pedal is a VW only part and they take 2 days to arrive. So got a mate to pull one from a Bora in the scrap yard. The Bora one had been previously welded so looks pretty robust.

Snapped pedal

The cars taken a backseat recently mainly due to our crappy British weather, I'll finish everything this spring.

Bits done to the A3 just haven't posted in a while.

New oem Sachs dampers upfront and top mounts
Wishbones with poly front bushes and r32 rear bush
KW rear ARB

How not to diy flash an me3.8 ecu, twisting wires together is asking for a bricked ecu

Sucessfully flashed a spare ecu with a 440cc/VR6 maf tune for when its needed and I bother to fit the shiney turbo sitting in my storage unit.

Current problems include a seized rear caliper, if I can find my 256mm rear discs I'll upgrade/fix this.
Needing to swap the oil sump out since the cross threaded sump plug is leaking more and more....

In an evenings work fitted
256mm rear brakes
Kw rear arb
Front arms with R32 rear bushes and superflex front bushes With new ball joints
New sump

Did the obvious and cleaned the oil pick up while the sump was off.

Initial predictions of doing it all in 2hours were quite wrong. Started at 11pm and didn't lower the ramp until 5am. Which is fantastic when you have a 2yr old who likes to wake up at 6am :help:

With the new bushes upfront and the rear arb the car definately corners flatter.
Some vibrations are transmitted to the cabin but its nothing major

Sunday night banter.... A3 had a flat tyre so thought screw that rusty heap and bought an A4 TFSI quattro. Made it 15 miles before the oil pressure Light came on

Lovely, first journey hime on flat bed. Buy cheap, buy twice!

a bit like fitting a VR turbo to prevent further damage to my 20v?

<tuffty/>

I'd check the thrust bearings while you are there... I assume you have to put your foot on the clutch to start it...

Bill bought a new OE pump for a TFSI build recently (and then promptly cut the balance shaft gear off to disable it)... circa 1500 quid iirc

Well end it of an era, the A3 was very twitchy this morning in the rain and nearly caught me out a few times.

Then sold a turbo online and went to drop it off. One the way the backend went one way then snapped back the other in a 180 spin....

Popped front tyre and rear wheel has some camber.... still drives though :racer:

Will be stripping everything off it that’s salvageable and scrapping the shell soon as the engine is back in the A4 this week

Jesus - I hope you are okay, ? looks like rose joint seized and broke the upper control arm causing the initial instability?

Since I put the KW rear Arb on the car was unpredictable on greasy roads.

Throwing the car into a corner hard it would corner fine and flat, but drive like miss daisy and the back end would dance when wet.

True, someone did hit the rear bumper and drove off a few weeks ago while I was parked. That could be a contributing factor

Yeah FWD was just a Koni shock attaching the top mount to the rear beam.

I hindsight I should of tried softening the rear shocks to see if it helped.....
