Changing the S3....but to what?

Was behind a Infinity Q30...this morning going to work and there are huge similarities between the new A class and this car from the roof line down to the shoulder line and even the rear tail lights are the same shape and design l know it's chassis is based on the previous A class but externally it's very like the new one

I can live with being Vin Van Diesel in contrast to being concerned about the economical aspect of a car :whistle2:

And as @q5man says the Z4M is such a sweet car. It'll only set me back £118k which is pocket money - buuuuut I think I'll keep my S3 for a bit longer :boxing:

With age brings common sense kid

Well the Old Farts have gone through I have to have that car regardless of price and the ability to pay for it. That is the siren call of youth.

You're right, some are worse than others though...

I remember the day I rolled up in my S3 and my dad looked me into my eyes and told me I was an idiot (this could also be due to the fact I bought a German car, again), but then he chew on it for a second and remembered his Mitsubishi Colt 1.8 GTI he bought in the late 80's which is pretty much was the exact same story as with me buying my S3... Boys will be boys I guys :racer:

common sense is overrated, otherwise we'd all be driving Camrys or worse :)
A Toyota Camry they don't even bring them to the UK anymore us brits have more common sense than to have them on our roads nowadays lol

I remember my very first job after leaving school and a man I worked beside bought a brand new Camry 1.8 in August 1983. It was a big square shape and really stood out from the common British cars of the era.
Funny thing is for some reason the registration number has stuck in my mind to this day - A411 RSU. :)

I don’t mind the back but the front end just doesn’t suit a saloon.

I must admit, I do quite like it, but haven’t been inside latest models, but previous ones often felt too plasticky.

Cmon snake, go for one of these. I will take your RS off your hands

Have to admit I do like that saloon shape.....and would be enough to tempt me into an A35. :)
I also like the interior, but I bet those pictures do not show the basic standard spec. The blue for example.......I bet that's extra for a start.

I totally agree. I looked at the previous shape A45 twice and both times could not get passed the plastic scratchy interior.
The new one does look good (in photos) but I would need to see one in person to make a true judgement.

I've got bad news for you mate ... I cleaned my car at the weekend (full detail as the weather was good) and when I finished the car was gleaming and I actually thought to myself ... it still looks like new !

I can't see me changing for some time to be honest. It is just a prefect car in every respect and STILL 3 years on makes me smile when I hear that glorious engine note.

Well What's stopping you .. .. ... Go for it

I can't justify spending £1,000's on a car which isn't as good as what I have.
Mine literally still looks like new and has very low miles.
I've never in my life had a car for over 3 years so this is new ground we are breaking lol :)
But I've got no urge to change whatsoever mate.
Still enjoy looking at what's out there though and coming through.

But that interior !!! Christ all mighty. At night it must be distracting from seeing out, as you glow from the inside of the car in a shade of Blue.

Like sitting in the Bridge of the Star ship Enterprise. Why they couldn't have integrated the screens into the dashboard I don't know. Looks so much like an afterthought.

If it had a normal dash, or at least everything integrated, I might have been interested. But I couldn't drive around with that staring back at me.

Am I the only one that things the interior dashboard looks seriously cluttered? Doesn't look good at all in my opinion, screens and shiny plastic metals all over the place, looks far too cluttered for my liking.

It's not worth you getting a new car mate you don't get the proper use of it,anyways how did you manage to detail it on top of a Mantle piece....that's what I would like know Lol

That’s the thing though with the RS, even just a drive round town is an event with the sound of it & I think that’s what has kept my interest for so long ... it genuinely feels special & has kept that appeal all this time.

It’s also retained a 70% of its value which both surprised & delighted me. So it won’t cost me much at all to hang onto it for another year or two ... win / win :icon thumright:

No mate, you need to jack it in now . Great to have a car more than 3 years, don’t think I have EVER done that, no jokes. Think 2.5 is the longest so far.

My current Q5 is not the most exciting, but with the tuning box on is around 300bhp, and does shift. Just very very quiet. But, doesn’t cost me much at all - under £350p/m

The JCW puts a MASSIVE smile on my face, so my next car needs to achieve this.

So will either get M, RS, Porsche or similar...who knows, but not for the next year and a bit at least

Same for me previously ... always been planning the next one as little as a year in lol

I can imagine the JCW is a great drive :thumbs up:

You'd need to sell it first to confirm its still worth 70% of value but then again you'd need to drive it off its plinth to sell it lol

Already had two offers & refused point blank.
The Dealer who bought the wife’s TT a few months ago said he wants it as soon as I want to sell it & that’s just for him to buy it ... no PX. He specialises in Audi / Merc / BMW

Plus my Dealers hounding me ... but he does have a motive lol

They can both wait :)

I think the MB interior looks naff, more like going to somewhere like Sound Gallery in the 80s and throwing every new fangled piece of LED lighting at it that was named 'cool blue' or similar. Over time I think it will age really badly.
