Changing engine on 2005 8p 1.9tdi any tips?

As title a friends a3 has recently gone bang due to turbo failing and throwing all the engines oil into the intake pipes, thus causing engine to run dry and bend a rod, so while hes off enjoying himself in New York i have been tasked with replacing the engine for him.

Whats the best way to do it? Out of the top, below, or front end off and out of the front? I have been very lucky and bought a donor car with same engine for less than most are selling the engines alone.

Also would it be recommended to just change intercooler seen as i have a spare? or clean original and reuse

and any other hints tips pointers? this is the first 1.9tdi engine swap ive done

personally id remove the front end might as well since you want to swap the intercooler as well

Yeah i think thats the route ill be taking, hopefully have it out tomorrow or at least ready to lift out as i havent lined up a hoist yet
