Changing dampers/shocks - how to?

Could someone briefly explain how to remove the front and rear dampers on an A3 Sportback?

Do you have to remove the inner boot trim to access the rear top mounts?

No you undue the rears under the arches .I had a link to a good guide ,Lost it
but heres a simular guide how to swap for coilovers ,It Should help you out
