Hi everyone,
A4 B8 AVANT 2008 2.0 TFSI
I am trying to establish the reason for this sound that can only be described as a bicycle sprocket sound that you get when coasting on a bike.
Is present when car is stationary in neutral and and depress the accelerator .

Also I can feel a very faint slight misfire sometimes when in neutral ,the vcds shows a misfire in cylinder 3 ,I cleared it and moved the coil to see if it migrates .

After loads of google research I have narrow it down to 2 possible causes (I might be well wrong:sweatsmile:) chain tensioner or turbo waste gate valve arm /rattling (or more serious issues-hope not :)
I have attached a picture with the tensioner -seems the new version(?)/is it stretched beyond recommendation ?
I do not have a P0299 code that would suggest a turbo issue (?).
The camshaft reading :

Address 01: Engine (8K2 907 115 AJ)

19:31:55
IDE00182 Camshaft adaptation intake bank 1: phase position -1.27 °

Below is the link with the sound (hope it works):

Bonus question : the 4660 fault from the ABS module ,what does it mean?
Thank you!

I can only go by other threads that I've seen but I'd say it's most likely the turbo waste gate valve. Pretty sure it's not too difficult to fix either.

thank you for your reply ,will investigate the waste gate valve.
