central locking pump

hi peeps, my central lockin has just stopped working, so i've gone an got another 1 off fleebay but thats doing the same as my old 1, when i set my alarm the pump just clicks but dont do anything, but also theres a little wiff of burning wire when i smell the box, i sent a message to the seller who said it was working when removed from the car, he said he will send me another 1 out as he's a breaks but i should check my car out to make sure its not something else, any ideas where i could start cheers

TBH, it could be anything. Is there no whirring noise and just a click? if so, the click is the solenoid (changes lock/unlock)

Best bet would be to get a wiring diagram and see if there is more than one power feed to the unit. If there is, make sure there is voltage on all feeds.

is there a relay for the locking pump if so any ideas where it is?
