Central locking not working

hi, i noticed about a week ago that my central locking has stopped working as well as the electric windows, i know its not the battery in the key fob as i have had this problem before, someone mentioned to me that it could be the convenience control unit which is located in the drivers side of the boot somewhere. has anyone had this problem before or got any other ideas of what it could be? from what ive been told if it is this control unit im looking at around £300 just for the unit which i do not really want to spend plus fitting. any help or advise would be appriciated thanks.

could be.ther £140 from audi or go 2nd hand and get it coded to the car...get a vag-diagnostic first before you do anything

I'd get it scanned. There are several things it could be, not just the convenience module.
