CD Changer or iPod/AMI with RNS-E

OK, thinking of adding/retrofitting either a CD Changer or an iPod-USB/AMI connection in the glovebox to co-inside with a '193' RNS-E.

I own an iPhone & a Nano which is one reason why I was looking at iPod connection.

I know everyone has their own preference, just looking to see what others would choose

Depends on your budget I guess. AMI for me but its the most expensive choice

CD's are almost dead, gotta be AMI.

I do like the thought of the AMI.

The only things that make me hesitate are:

1. The cost of retrofitting
2. I have a completely standard glovebox & I'm concerned about cutting it open to fit either kit

You can cut the bit out then glue it back in if you ever remove ami.

Does the AMI require something similar to the cage needed for the CD Changer in order to fit it in the glovebox?

You need a specific glove box.

Hi all, im new to this forum but have been spending a bit of time looking through all of the retrofit options for RNS-E for my 2012 black edition a3. Im more than happy to do this myself but just wondered if anyone had retrofitted the AMI system, as audi dont sell a loom for a staright retrofit. Firstly, other than the ami unit, was there anything you needed to purchase? And secondly, has it just been fitted with the standard wiring loom?
