Cars Making Some Funny Noises

as of about 3 days ago my car was running fine. now it still runs a dream and its boosting perfectly fine like it always had. but now for some reason and only when its under load when it boosts it makes a hoover like noise which is noticeably loud and never happened before. been the garage and had all the boost pipes and everything checked over and there all fine. the noise doesnt happen at idle when you rev it only when driving under load. they seem to think my turbos on the way out at the garage just wondering if anyones had a problem like it before?

Suggest you try revving the engine in neutral, say by bringing the revs up to 2500 and hold. Get someone to listen at the exhaust pipe and see if the hoover noise is there. If so, suspect the turbo.

if its not there what am i looking at it being? the noise sounds like it coming from under the bonnet

If it sounds like a whooshing noise. I believe it coule be the diverter valve has a split in the diaphram (from what I have read on here before). Think its also called a V157 valve.
