I am wanting to make a few mods to my B9 and have found either the VCDS system or Carista app.

By all accounts, VCDS is a much more comprehensive system but costly. Carista is £30 for the adapter and £10 for a week app access to make the changes but limited to what the app has built in to it.

I also do not have a pc, although I can create a VM on the MacBook if need be.

Has anyone used either of these on a B9? Do the mods stay intact on a system upgrade or do we need to mod again afterwards (making the Carista week long access annoying) or will Audi have any issues when it goes in for its first service?

Thanks

I use the carista off my phone. I did pay for the year as thought that way I can check codes and reset service interval etc without paying every time. Like you say the original vcds cable is expensive so I use a local guy if anything carista doesn't do.

The carista website says only Diagnostics is possible on the B9? Is that right? No customisations?
