When I'm pulling up to a junction and I take car out of gear it starts to judder till it stops like it's gonna conk out but not all the time, clutch is fine it bites in the right place so im confused

Have you checked the condition of your engine mounts. Could possibly be part of the problem.

Although if your car is actually stopping, then there could be more to it mate.

It is stopping but nearly cuts out

As said definitely sounds like engine mounts if it's only shaking when standing still, take a look in the engine bay and see if you can spot a leak in the one side or get it on vag-com which will flag this up. Swapped mine for B5 RS4 mounts which are solid so no chance of them leaking.

I'd check the rubber hoses on the inlet side to make sure there are no splits. It sounds like an excess air issue if it nearly conks out, as you put it.
