Hi Guys and Gals,

I have an annual event where I plonk myself down in front of the the computer and re-quote my previous years car insurance quotes. Purely because I have a lazy bone in my *** and can't be bothered to enter my wifes and my details each and every time on a different site.

Tonight is no exception!
I have checked on Moneysupermarket, GoCompare, Compare the Market, Confused.com, Google, USwitch and LV.com.

What do you guys do or who do you use to insure your beloved Audi?!
Is there a particular company rather than a search engine you use and find very competative?!

One particular that I must have on my comprehensive insurance policy is cover to drive other peoples cars on 3rd party cover.

Cheers

Dan

What are you looking for standard, or modified?

If modified then you have to ring around as they aren't on the comparison sites.

I've found Brentacre to be the cheapest for me for the last four years.

Standard. I'm going to remove my blacksmoke remap as I have an issue I'm wanting to investigate ad I think it's the map causing it.

If it's just standard then use the comparison sites, then contact the lowest company direct as you normally get a cheaper quote off them.
Also contact the few big companies that aren't on there like direct line etc.

I'm in the same dilemma, seems to get more expensive every year (although I do have a couple pending claims for being a pillock). Try rewording your profession using this http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/car-insurance-job-picker/#sectors also see if theirs a difference between where you park it. If your car's 15 or so years old try classic insurance, if someone else in your family is insured see if they'll sort a deal for the two or so of you. Try increasing your excess or getting someone else as the main driver (although you won't get any no claims bonus if you do this).

Mines come down the last two years with Brentacre, but they're modified only.

Mines under £250 fully comp so don't waste much time looking around I just look at my renewal then do a comparison search then ring my current company and they normally match my best quote, I don't show any loyalty as all insurance company's are robbing bar stewards who will screw you to the floor when you need to claim or try and blame you when someone runs up your rear end so I only look for a company I have heard of and has the best level of cover.

Swiftcover by far the best for me. Any changes to your policy are done FOC online, no lengthy phone calls and an admin charge to change your address or add a driver for instance.
Tweaking your profession can bring the premium done. Last renewal (with Swiftcover) I saved £40 by stating there are 4 cars in the household.

My quote fully comp is £210 for the last year and £194 for this coming year.

Can't seem to get it any cheaper with 3rd party driving option.

Insurance is still abit of a sore point for me - I hate insurance renewal time, aulthough it is gradually getting better.

Im currently 26 and paid £1620 (excluding APR) from Feb 14 - Feb 15. That is fully comp at my own house in a Liverpool postcode with 7 yrs NCB.
Believe it or not, that has been the best price I have ever had, I didnt pay any less than 2k for insurance from the age of 17-19 then from 20 - 24 costs have been between £1900-1700.
Cars insured have been; MK4 Fiesta 1.25, MK5 Fiesta Zetec-S, MK3 Ibiza Cupra, Vectra C SRi 1.9, Current A4.
Never had more than 3 points (SP30) on my license - no claims.

Shame, as I used to work my *** off part-time in Tesco to afford to drive whilst in college - looking back, if I didnt work then I would have probably done better academically! Hindsight is a great thing.

Im probably going to start hunting for quotes towards the end of this month.

Mine was £440 last year with 11 years NBC, no claims, and an sp30, which living in Manchester is quite a good price. Half the specialist insurance companies wouldn't even insure a Manchester postcode last year when I was ringing around.

I'm hoping for £300~£350 max this time as I turn 30 before my renewal, and it's been 5 years since my sp30 so I no longer need to declare them.

Wow that's mental, do you live in a really bad area or something? No way would I pay that at 26, i didn't even pay that when I was 17!

Just under £300 fully comp for me. I just comparison site it every year, pick the cheapest and go to them direct for a little cheaper.

Not particularly bad to be honest - car crime has definatley reduced over the past 10 years.
It dropped slightly when I moved into my own place - when I lived at home it was very expensive.
Around 12 years ago my dad had an Omega which rolled into next-doors house (was in park with the handbrake on!) the wall had to be rebuilt - I think my parents address/our names have a flag on for an expensive claim as we all paid fairly high insurance prices.

I've used Green Light for the past several years.

Originally I used them on my heavily modded golf as they repair like for like.

Now on my audi there cheapest by a few hundred compared to the comparison sites.

I'm 27, 9 points, parked on my drive in a ok area, pay around 400 ish, dropped from last year even adding all the points this year.
