Car did 11.9 at Santa pod yesterday

I done an 11.97 @ 114mph, that was with a 1.77 60ft and Unicorn stage 1.

Like said a 1.8 60ft and 110mph terminal doesn't make sense. Shame you lost the slip.

Was it 11.999?
I just can't do the maths that does 110mph and 11.9.
Maybe Santa pods timing was off that time or perhaps they got the numbers mixed up?
One of my runs said 13.8 which was impossible with a **** 60ft so was obviously them taking the wrong number from the rear window.
 
few poeple came to me once i did the run one piratical guy had a grey s1, he came over to me once i did the run and couldnt believe it as his s1 was 400bhp and couldnt get near my time (his was manual)
 
now being told i did two other runs at 110 that 11.9 was at 113mph and in dynamic mode, others i had in comfort lol
 
You can remember the time and 60ft to 4 decimal places on that run but not to your 11.9 run. Haha. Anyone have any videos?

Only one thing for it..... Have to go back and do it again and this time keep the slip ;-)

i have a slip for that run, and the last slip with all the runs i left in the hotel,

traction was on and still launches with the tcu remap.

at the end of the day it did a 11.9 quarter mile.
 
Get back there this weekend for the VAG show and go quicker. Should be looking at 11.7 with more power.
 
We need to bare in mind that 3dr or sportback and salons all have different weights. A spec'd up car with Pana roof, B&O and whatever else will weigh more than one without

I'm only guessing but a sub 12 S3 with stage 1 isn't going to be a heavy S3

APR need to up their game. They're a bit off the 11.5 @ 119.9 with Unicorn stage 2.

I remeber their 11.79 at 114 video months ago stock DSG tune etc. Wondering why people like Dan at stage 2 with IC, DSG tune not then getting similar times to Shorty's. I'm guessing lots of variables on day, I know it's making good power as mate in Aust getting 117/118 trap speed but only getting 11.8s due to stock 19rims/tyres. No doubt with some lightweight 18s and good tyres should get down into 11.5/6 area.

Even checking MK7R forums not many have recorded many sub 12 times yet. Will be interesting to see times over next few months in US with DSG tunes, Version 2.3 ECU tune and IC now. See how much faster car actually is.

You don't see many UK cars running solid 11's, like you said cars in other countries are, Austrialia, there's the Peurto Rican lads who bang out constant 11.5/6's and even 11.4's on drag tyres.

My cars nothing special, it's a pretty basic spec to be honest with a standard cooler and boost pipes and only a downpipe. Just some clever custom mapping by Rick and not generic, as good as the likes of APR are, it's still a generic file and every car can be different and will need setting up differently.

I'd like to try some proper tyres on mine, the 19's and standard Bridgestones let me down last time I was out, couldn't get better than a 1.8 60ft but even with a 1.9 60ft I still done an 11.6 @ 119. I think the fact my car goes very well helps make up for the not very good launches.

I think we will see stock turbo cars go sub 11.5 In the UK this year once people start to push them more and lean more about them.
 
Guessing that with so few gear changes over this distance that the main job of the TCU tune is to prevent clutch slip ?

Tcu tunes should give faster changes, more aggressive launch control and the shift points can be matched to the power band so it should be better in everyway if set up right

Here is list from VWvortex MK7R. Good to see times, trap, tunes etc. Not many at all into the 11's. Back to OP claims it just doesn't make sense a 1.8-1.9 60 foot and 110trap getting 11.9. Comparing below you would be in the 12.3 area.

Out the box on map 1 4.8 psi is impressive. 5 psi seems fine on 99ron. I'm just starting to try 5.2, it feels faster but I need to log some times and see if it really is or I'm just putting unnecessary stress on the car

So map 1 is 4.8psi over stock, map 6 is custom boost by rpm and I'm guessing map 2 is 5.2psi over stock ? What other supporting mods are you running.
 
You can change the max boost of map 1 to whatever you want. 5 seems to be about the sweet spot. Map 6 you can customise the boost in 500 RPM intervals.
