    As title really...

Is it possible to turn off the egr via vcds. As I've deleted it out of the engine bay...

Not delete but adaption which really turns it down.

Either have it mapped out or bit of black tape on the back of the dial card light gone

Hi Gaz, how is this done? Any links? Cleaned it out before and never again!

Needs to be mapped out, only way to get rid of the MIL, and readiness check during MOT...

It would be for a 2.0 BRD

Either remap out or egr adaption which minimises it's operation in VCDS .

That's what I meant, how is it done in VCDS, any guides?

I'm a fairly new/light user so am not using 10% of what it is!

Who has done this for 2.0 (BRD) TDI?

I'm struggling to find the correct values to enter. (No suggestion bubble/popup in VCDS for this one)

Any ideas or where to source them?

No idea, I had my light deleted when I had mine remapped.
Have you taken the cooler off too?

I haven't taken off anything on this car.

As per the other posts and youtube video, you can apparently essentially minimise its function all together with the correct value in VCDS.

Basically as close to a delete as possible without physically modifying the car
    (If I understood it correctly)

Just remove it all, and smooth out the airflow. Plus no possible cooler pipe leaks and easy turbo access.
The engine bay looks much less cluttered with all the extra frippery gone too.

Oh Trust me. I want it all removed.

Not only have I myself cleaned out the inlet manifold and egr on my Special Edition. Disgusting and hours of dirty work.

I’ve had in the past the pleasure of having to pay Audi to replace the EGR in my old S-Line at £1k plus.

So I’m all up for deletes. Both DPF and EGR. But can’t justify the spend at the moment.
and I’m not giving it a go on my driveway.

Have you removed your DPF? I've read you're bound to cake up your DPF rather quickly without an EGR.

I think it's true, if you have a DPF it relies on the EGR for re-gen etc. I'm not sure if the DPF can be deleted with no other issues.
That only applies to the BRD though, I've got a BRE and no DPF thankfully.

£1k plus, wowser. Definitely a reason to delete.
If you're able to, I'd definitely give it a go. The delete kit isn't expensive and whilst the cooler removal can be a bit tricky it really isn't a difficult job. I've got a great link to to write up if you need it.

Yeh I was in Europe at the time and had no other real choice (or trust) than to take it to the main dealer. Didn't even have tools to try.

So was €1150 EUR or so in the end by Audi. But that's simply because Audi don't clean parts. Knowing what I know now, probably could have cleaned it out.

But it was an actual physical blockage. The car didn't have the power to drive out of my underground parking garage the next morning. It wasn't limp mode. Had to get it towed to the dealer after driving 200 mile home on the EML.

And since then when purchasing my current B7 I stripped down and cleaned out the Inlet manifold and EGR myself, which I started on a whim and turned out to be a complete pain in the ****. And ended up being an allnighter as I wasn't going to 'half' do it. So persevered and have 'fond' memories of that too.

So you could definitely say I'm not a big fan of EGR systems to say the least and know personally all too well the pain in the **** that they are. And that's before any performance or simply engineer in me despises the concept of them all together.
