ok well i've just had an engine change due to oil starvation on my old engine, after numerous problems due to lack of knowledge but all is good soo far apart from now i need a replacment turbo, i have a K04 on there at the moment but i cant find a replacment for a decent price so here is my question and options,

can i use any of these.

a turbo off a b5 1.8T?

a k03? will i have to change many things?

somone suggested a garrett turbo will work and fit?

to be honest im looking for the cheapest way out as this bill has been never ending but worth it and i plan on getting the k04 turbo reconed at a later date.

So you have a K04 that requires reconed, and you need a K04 am I missing something? Can you not find a reconditioned one and part exchange yours. This must be the best option.

i just want any turbo that will fit straight on so i can get the car back on the road untill i can be bothered to send the k04 off for a recon, i just want the cheapest way as im not bothered about power etc.
