can it be done

It's been done to an S3 so I don't see why not. From what I heard it drove like a pig though.

p.s. You'll also have to change the gear box and complete drive train.

I am sure there was a post, maybe not on this forum, where an RS4 engine was fitted to an S3.

If it can be shoehorned into an S3 they could probably do the same to a TT, but at what cost.

You could probably buy a used RS4 for the same money.

i would say yes it can.

thers is a TT running around called "Bullett" thats running a s4 2.7 twin turbo v6.

more or less same lump without the rs4 goodies and tweaks.

theres a video launch of it out on the net somewhere, but its been a year or two since ive seen it.

How an earth did they shoe-horn that engine into the S3?

There was more room in the S3 engine bay over that A4 body due to the flared arches apparently, and they used RS4 prop shaft and rear diffs to give it a proper power distribution over the haldex system.

I wonder if they ever did get it to handle at all?

It was Qst's demo car I think, and didn't someone on RS246.com buy it?
