I serviced my A4 2.0 petrol last weekend, and had a quick check over everything when I finished.
I noticed this problem, (photo below) and don't know what it is called or what it does, except that one end is fed from the air intake.
As you can probably see, there is some duct tape at one side and black electrical tape at the other.
A pipe that goes vertically down from the T piece has a dome-shaped connection on the end, which currently is connected to absolutely nothing. The two bits of tape are not doing anything either.
If anyone can shed light on what this is called and its function, I'd be grateful. Cheers!
