Can anyone recommend a short shifter for 2.5tdi QS?

Hi all,

I'd like to purchase a decent short shifter for my 2.5tdi Quattro Sport as I feel the throw is far too long on the standard shifter, especially with the first gear being such a short ratio I feel like I can't change gear quick enough from 1st to 2nd with a smooth transition, so I think a short shift will help.

Can anyone recommend a decent short shifter? I don't want a cheap eBay special, I'm after a quality kit which doesn't give me any crunches or notchiness when selecting gears.

No one fitted a short shifter then??

I'm assuming a short shifter wouldn't be specific to a particular model of A4 would it? I.e would a 1.8T 6 speed short shifter fit my 2.5tdi? And would it make a difference to the shifter of its a quattro or just FWD?
