Cam chain tensioner

Hi I need to get my tensioner changed it’s a blr engine cam belt got that tippy sound, I’m based in Essex just wondering if anyone is about the area and roughly how much they do it for ?

I had to get mine changed out recently and had timing belt plus water pump done. I was £1,200 which was a great price well under what Audi would charge.
Dependant on miles u have done maybe u can get away with just Camshaft chain + tensioner

Didn’t see this mate I actually thought the post never posted had my cam belt not too long ago gunna get cams locked in tdc and changing chain tensioner gaskets and might as well do cam follower while I’m there lol

Yah jus the chain n tensioner I’d still rather pay someone to do it if price isn’t crazy

It’s hard to find any idea of a quote a lot of the time they think I need a whole belt pump etc

If u have paper work to show mechanic that belt and pump have been done it should be enough , and a decent mechanic would be able to tell u its just cam shaft chain and tensioner .

AMD is my 'go to' Audi specialist, they know more about our cars than the main dealer. They are in West Thurrock next to IKEA , Lakeside, luckily they are not IKEA ex fitters.

Yeah I have the paperwork just was talking over the phone and online etc I got someone who said 3/4 hours time so hopefully all good

If only cam shaft tensioner , i paid £ 500 for that as i divded full bill by 2 and for all i was 1100. So dependent on mechy . But if done right u will know urself

If u get lower price and job is done right great bargain mate and happy for you . You will notice different as u have had pump and belt changed .

I can imagine chain is stretched a little so timing could be in a better state after it would be nice for better power and hopefully economy lol

Collected today drives better 360 tax n few bits but anyone with a soapy sound should deffo get that looked at
