Hi All,

My 2003 Audi A3 2.0TDI is up for a cam belt and water pump at the start of next year, due to the number of years since it's last change. I've just spoken to my local Audi (Poole Audi) and they've quoted me £549 all in, i'm just wondering if this price is about right? I'm sure i've seen on here before it being around £350/£400 mark, from main dealers.

Thank you.
Merry Christmas in advance! :icon thumright:

Why don't you get it done from a independent garage??

As it stands it's got full service history, along with the stamped booked.

With main dealers you get guaranteed work so should something go wrong, i'm covered.

An independent garage will cost you around 250 mark that's with a waterpump
And dealers is 500+

I had mine done last month and it cost me less then that to be honest have a search of my post

You know Audi will price match right?

^ This could be very exciting if my local Audi participate. Thanks!!!!

I've had a quote by local garage for £230 for cambelt, water pump and new fluids.

My s3 is due cam belt and water pump and they quoted me £549 for the lot, but it will also include free MOT for the life of the car.

Funny they never mentioned about the Audi price match scheme....think I'll make a few phone calls!

Well it is on the Audi Website - I think it ends early next year (Though they may extend it).
The bottom link is the audi page (Non-specific to a particular dealer)

VW are doing it for £350 mate

Don't think Independents use genuine parts, thought they were equivilant (probably made same factory, just no logo)?
Dave

Never knew Audi did that, even so, I'd much prefer to take mine to a trusted specialist. 99% of the time, they know much more than Audi themselves anyway!

Oh, and don't let the 'Free MOT's for life' rubbish convince you, as I can guarantee that everytime it goes in, it will have something 'wrong' with it that needs fixing for it to pass.

A local VW/Audi specialist near me (Poole) uses genuine Audi parts.

Neither did I, i'm quite glad this was pointed out as Audi £549 all in, my local specialist quoted me £339+VAT and Audi have price matched, without questioning it. I'm chuffed to bits.

Thank you so much for pointing this out to me, Audi have price matched the quote from my local dealer and it's just saved me just shy of £200. I appreciate your help!

I'd definitely give it ago buddy, my local Audi has just priced matched a quote from my local specialist at £339 + VAT. I can't believe they have the cheek to charge £549 but then reduce it to £339+VAT without batting an eyelid.
